Friday 6/27

Downtown Minneapolis Champs, the gig that almost didn’t happen.

RS & Champs would like to send big thanks to Tim Leaf and his sound crew, also to the weather god to make Champs a successful outdoor event.

So what do you do when it rains when you play in an alley?
How about no sound and lights?

Believe me; it was looking like a short stormy night!

Billy P (Dave) jumped to the task and pulled out his rolodex & starting calling all sound techs he had on file.

Let’s face it, trying to find someone at 7:00 PM the night of the show is pretty tuff. But luckily Tim was available and just happened to be loading gear into his truck for the following day.

Cell phones; can’t live without them.  Excellent!!!!!!!!.

Now all we had to do is pray for NO RAIN.

9:30 came and so did the rain and the tarps. Fortunately the rain was short lived and the show went on.

The crowd was festive and we noticed some Brewer fans that stopped by after the baseball game.

They wouldn’t let us end our show until we played a couple of encores even though the power gods were telling us different.

Minneapolis is fun and we hope to be back.

More sleep!

Saturday 6/28

RS had to be on the road by noon to play an early outdoor show in Spicer MN at Melvin’s on the lake.

We prayed for no rain. No luck.

Melvin’s is a fun place and they treated the bands great. Yes bands. We played with some great lads from our side of the pond called “Tumbling Dice” a Rolling Stones tribute. At least the bands were relatively safe playing under a tent. So we stayed dry but those 40 mile winds off of Green Lake were a trip. I feel for the audience, they hard to deal with the rain and wind.

A couple of us partied with some of the Tumbling Dice crew. It would be fun to work together again sometime. It was a nice fit.

Enough said about bad weather, lets hope for some nice weather over the 4th of July weekend!  We have two shows outdoors -  Clear Lake, Iowa and Pathfinder Village . Come down to Clear Lake on the 3rd. The Iowan’s are super people, just make sure you pick up your beer in Minnesota - it’s only 3.2 down there!

Fun & Merriment!!!!!
